Legend of Korra Book 4 Episode 1 Review - What Happened in Three years??
Legend of Korra Book 4 was released today and I had watched it. With the title After All These Years, this episode really drew us to curiosity what will really happen in this season. I will review this episode with what happened in three years and what will happen based on this episode. And for all of you...
SPOILER ALERT!! SPOILER ALERT!! SPOILER ALERT!!
And you have been warn...
5. Grow up, Team Avatar!
After three years, Team Avatar seperated and went different ways : Asami worked more for her company, Mako became a bodyguard for future king of Earth Kingdom, Bolin as one of Kuvira's forces, and Korra who sorta became an underground earth bending MMA fighter. The teenagers has changed to young adults that have ways to discover themselves.
It's confirmed that Bolin has established a relationship with Opal, Suyin Beifong's airbender daughter, but his relationship with her is on a rough situation as Bolin and her has a long distance relationship and Bolin joined Kuvira's forces which is Opal really disagree with this.
Not just Team Avatar, the whole universe has grown up. Kai's voice has gone deep as he turned into a growing teenager, puberty really hits him. And of course, Meelo the boy has became Meelo the man. This comical situation really drew what happened in three years as Meelo felt that so many has changed in years.
4. Kuvira the Great Uniter
After the events of Zaheer, Kuvira have a mission to unite the Earth Kingdom. But she saw that mission as an opportunity to gain power to rule the Earth Kingdom. Instead of getting people to unite and get ready for a new king, she used this to unite people and fight for her. She gained her popuarity by intimidating people and made them believe that she had "helped" them. And for that she is very sure confirmed as the major villain of this season.
Kuvira is not alone. Baatar Jr., Opal's brother, is with her and shockingly engaged. Varrick and his assistant are with her, too. And Bolin is in enemy's side (I think it's for a while).
As Kuvira started to unite the Earth Kingdom or should I say, dominate, Opal started to completely disagree with her brother and Kuvira. This made her relationship with Bolin became a rough one as Bolin is one of Kuvira's Forces.
3. Mako on this side, Bolin on the other side
As Bolin joined Kuvira's Forces, Mako started to take his job more seriously as he became a bodyguard for future Earth Kingdom king, Wu. He really wanted to get this bodyguard job over with but Lin told him that he will permanantly posted as Wu's bodyguard. This made him on this side and Bolin is on the other side with Kuvira's devoters.
I think there will be a clash between this two brothers or Bolin switch side to Mako's side as Kuvira became the major villain and he doesn't want to strain his relationship with Opal as he felt guilty when he helped Kuvira's Forces in state of Yi.
2. Suyin's family trouble
It is obvious that Suyin's family had a trouble as Opal said that her mother will never forgive with what Baatar Jr. has done. She strongly objects to her big brother doing and have a huge grudge against him.
I think Suyin's family is in a full trouble as Kuvira refered to what happened in three years ago. But it still a mystery for us in what happened with Suyin's family as Suyin has not made an appearance yet. There's a hint this family trouble involved with Baatar Jr.'s decision to leave Zaofu with Kuvira and helped her to "unite" Earth Kingdom. But with Opal's anger towards him showed on this episode, it may be more complicated than what we think and I cannot wait for this to be revealed.
1. Korra as an underground earth bending MMA fighter
Korra's character revealed in the very end of this episode as she came back to Republic City but choosed to conceal her identity as Avatar. She became an underground earh bending MMA fighter for living. She looked very depressed in this episode that she really lost herself. Bye bye I-am-proud-to-be-an-Avatar Korra.
I think with her as an earth bending fighter she will learn more about earth bending as she tried to make herself as her again. That's where Toph Beifong will came out and teach Korra about earth bending and metal bending. I think Toph will be a major plot for this season as Korra tried to be stronger after her recovery and she will start with earth bending.
When I saw Korra this broken, I think this season will tell about Korra and her struggle to become stronger as she felt defeated after Zaheer's event and felt unworthy as an Avatar. The Korra we used to know as a very proud of herself as an Avatar has changed to a very depressed woman with a feeling of unworthiness clinging in her heart. Or maybe this is her way to search for enlightments like Toph did.
I really look after for next episode as it's still a big mystery for all of us. What is your prediction anyway??

This article/ blog is poorly written. I have found countless grammatical errors, including spelling mistakes. Remember to have another person look over your blog entry before posting. Otherwise it was rather informative.
